Extremely delicious Jam tarts and all made at home!
Ingredients
180g plain flour
2 tbsp Castor Sugar
80g Butter
1 Egg
Pinch of Salt
Jam of your choice
Method
- Sieve the flour, sugar, and salt into a mixing bowl.
- Add the butter and rub until it resembles crumbs.
- Beat the egg and stir into the mix.
- Now, gather the mix into a smooth dough ball. Wrap dough in clear film and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°c/gas mark 7. Lightly grease a 12-hole tartlet pan or muffin tray
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry out to about 3mm thick.
- Using a round 3inch cutter (or anything you have of this size), stamp out 12 circles.
- Press the pastry circles into the greased tin. Place a teaspoon of jam into the center of each tart.
- Bake for 15 minutes, until pastry is cooked and light golden brown.
- Let the tarts cool for a couple of minutes and then carefully lift the tarts out of the tray.
- Let them cool completely before eating.
